A League City landlord is suing a tenant for unpaid rent.
Greenbriar Chateau Associated Ltd. filed suit in the Galveston County District Court on Feb. 24, naming Michael Powell Investments LLC and Michael Powell as the defendants.
Greenbriar claims it entered into a lease agreement with Powell for property at 110 S. Gulf Freeway in League City, in 2010. The lease allegedly was to last 36 months and included a personal guaranty executed by Michael Powell.
The lease also apparently required Powell to cover the all costs associated with the property including, property taxes and insurance. Powell allegedly defaulted under the lease agreement and Greenbriar has initiated this suit to collect unpaid balance owed by Powell on the property.
Greenbriar is suing for breach of contract. It says Powell still owes money for rent, property taxes and now attorney's fees.
Greenbriar is seeking $53,191.78 in damages and is being represented by Romano and Sumner LLC.
