Jefferson County woman suing after wreck with alleged drunk driver

A Jefferson County woman is suing after a car accident was allegedly caused by an intoxicated driver.

Eugenia Marks filed a lawsuit Feb. 25 in the Jefferson County District Court against Marcues Landale Higgin and Jennifer Higgin, citing negligence. 

Marks claims that on Feb. 3, she was involved in a car accident with the defendant, when traveling westbound on Washington Boulevard in Beaumont.

According to the suit, the defendant Marcues Higgin was allegedly driving while intoxicated into oncoming traffic causing him to crash into Marks' car, causing her pain and suffering.

Marks is seeking damages, interest, attorney's fees and court costs.

She is being represented by Beaumont attorneys James E. Payne, Jennifer Job Seale, and Robbie Turner Jr. of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP.
