An employee allegedly injured at the workplace has filed a petition to depose her employer and gather information to determine if she should sue over he injuries.

Yvonne Trahan filed her Petition for Deposition to Investigate a Potential Claim in the Jefferson County District Court on March 4. Trahan was allegedly severely burned while working at the Valero Port Arthur refinery.

Trahan has filed her petition in order to gather information from the company that is not available to the public. She wants to question certain employees, procure certain documents and generally delve into her accident in more detail.

Among the information Trahan allegedly needs relates to the equipment she was using, maintenance procedures of Valero, and what actions the company took after her accident. Trahan has not yet filed suit, the petition was filed to help her determine if she should sue, court papers say.

Trahan is seeking approval of her deposition request.

She is being represented by attorney Brian Beckcom and Byron C. Alfred  of VB Attorneys in Houston.
