Texas Gas Service named in racial discrimination lawsuit

An employee is suing her employer and co-worker claiming she was discriminated against because she was not black.

Brenna Tran filed suit in the Jefferson County District Court on March 4, naming Texas Gas Service and Eli Roberts as the defendants.

According to the suit, Tran says she was recruited by Texas Gas Services and Danny White, former supervisor at TGS. White allegedly received information that another employee, Eli Roberts was misappropriating TGS funds. White apparently attempted to take action, but Roberts used some influence he had at TGS to instead have White fired, according to the lawsuit.

Now, Tran alleges Roberts is attempting to get everyone who was friends with White to leave TGS. Tran says Roberts has successfully terminated the employment of one of White's friends, and she is the only one left.

She claims she has been subjected to a hostile work environment at the hands of Roberts and his associates.

Tran accuses the defendants of violating Texas Labor Code.

Tran is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

She is being represented by attorney Larry Watts.
