A real estate transaction in which the buyer overpaid forms the basis of this lawsuit.

Julie Marshall is suing Brittany Sadoval in the Jefferson County District Court over an overage that Sandoval allegedly refuses to refund.

In her lawsuit, filed March 4, Marshall says in 2010 she entered into a contract with Sandoval for the purchase and sale of a home. Sandoval was to sell Marshall a home on Helbig Road in Beaumont.

Marshall says she overpaid for the home in the amount of $1,900 and overpaid property taxes in the amount of $653.98. However, Marshall says Sandoval refuses to refund her money or to transfer title of the home to her.

Marshall is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages and a court order transferring the Helbig Road property to her.

She is being represented by attorney Michael J. Lindsay of Lindsay, Lindsay and Parsons in Beaumont.
