A Galveston County company is suing over claims they were not paid for electrical work.

Legg Industries Inc., doing business as Competitive Electric, filed a lawsuit March 12 in the Galveston County District Court against Jamail & Smith Construction LP and Berkley Regional Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 9, 2012, Jamail entered into a public work contract to perform work on Galveston College with a payment bond from Berkley Regional Insurance. It sub-contracted Legg Industries to perform the electrical portion of the job for $129,726.

Legg Industries claims Jamail has failed to pay fees in the amount of $50,428, and is suing to recover the fees owed.

They are being represented in the case by attorney Robert E. Bastien of Tramonte Tramonte & Bastien PC in Galveston.
