Jefferson County woman sues after car accident injures spine

A Jefferson County woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries after a car accident.

Deborah Rose filed a lawsuit March 12 in the Jefferson County District Court against Donald Wayne Flanagan Jr., citing negligence.

Rose claims on May 1, 2012, she was traveling north bound on Interstate Highway 10 when Flanagan crashed into the rear of her car, resulting in Rose sustaining injuries.

The suit alleges the defendant was not paying attention to the traffic around him, causing him to crash into Rose's car.

Rose claims she suffered significant injuries to her spine that required surgery and left her with medical bills around $50,000.

She is seeking damages, interest and court costs.

She is being represented in the case by Beaumont attorney Steven C. Barkley.
