Regional Finance sued by former employee alleging discrimination

A Texas resident is suing after allegedly experiencing sexual harassment while at work.


Tomeka Easley filed a lawsuit March 18 in the Tyler Division of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Regional Finance Corporation of Texas, doing business Regional Finance, citing sexual discrimination and retaliation.

The complaint states the plaintiff worked for the defendant and beginning Aug. 1, 2011, Easley was allegedly sexually harassed by a manager. After Easley informed the defendant of the manager's behavior, she claims she was disciplined and ultimately terminated, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant retaliated against her for reporting the sexual harassment.

Easley is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages, including reinstatement.

The plaintiff is being represented in the case by Gerald J. Smith Sr. of The Law Office of Smith & D’Antonio LLP and Angela D. Kendrick of Kendrick Law Firm.
