Premium Spray Products sued for racial discrimination

A Montgomery County man is suing over claims he was discriminated against based upon his race.

Josh Amezola filed a lawsuit March 19 in the  against Premium Spray Products Inc., citing race and national origin discrimination and unpaid compensation.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 7, 2012, Amezola, a Latino employee of Premium Spray Products, was fired after securing a major contract and allegedly replaced with a white employee.

Amezola alleges that throughout his employment he was teased and was the victim of derogatory speech in relation to his race. According to the suit, after the termination, he sent a request for unpaid compensation and damages for the discrimination, but only received a response from PSP's legal counsel that threatened legal action if he filed a complaint and made false accusations of theft of company assets.

Amezola is seeking more than $75,000 in damages.

He is being represented in the case by attorney David C. Holmes.
