Collision on MLK in Beaumont results in negligence lawsuit

Two Jefferson County residents are suing after being involved in a motor vehicle collision.

Hollie Guidry Savoy and Leila Davis Guidry filed a lawsuit March 24 in the Jefferson County Court against Yolanda Michelle Madison-Dugar, citing negligence and negligence per se.

The complaint states on March 17, 2012, Savoy was driving southbound in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and was attempting to turn into a parking lot when the defendant struck the plaintiff's vehicle.

Savoy alleges the defendant failed to yield and failed to control her speed. Guidry was a passenger in Savoy's vehicle at the time of the accident, according to the complaint.

The plaintiffs are seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

They are being represented in the case by attorney R. Kent Livesay of the Law Offices of R. Kent Livesay PC.
