Man sues clinic claiming malfunctioning equipment caused hearing loss

A Jefferson County man is suing over claims he sustained injuries after receiving negligent care while at a Beaumont medical center.


Joe Daniels filed a lawsuit March 26 in the Jefferson County District Court against Fannett Medical Center and Dr. Rogelio Mendoza, citing medical malpractice. 

Daniels claims he went to the defendant's facility at 15321 Highway 124 in Beaumont, on Jan. 19, 2012.

The suit alleges the defendant's ear lavage, the device the technician was using, malfunctioned and damaged Daniel's left ear. He claims it resulted in permanent loss of hearing in his left ear.

Daniels is seeking damages, interest, court costs and such further relief to which he may be entitlted.

He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Craig Lewis of The Lewis Law Firm.
