Allied Van Lines sued after delivering items for relocating family 13 days late

Mover 12

A Galveston County woman is suing over claims a moving company failed to reimburse her for expenses accrued when their belongings arrived late.

Sandra L. Judge filed a lawsuit April 4 in the Galveston County District Court against Allied Van Lines, Sirva Relocation LLC, and Morse Moving & Storage, citing breach of contract and deceptive trade practices.

According to the complaint, on March 13, 2013, Judge and the late James M. Judge Jr., entered into a contract with the defendants to move their belongings from Tennessee to League City between June 9 and June 12, 2013.

Judge says that after moving her family to Texas, she was notified that the moving company failed to procure a driver to move the belongings on time, forcing the family to stay in a hotel for 13 days, accruing dining and lodging costs.

According to the lawsuit, the defendants agreed to reimburse Judge for these costs, but have so far failed to do so.

Judge is being represented in the case by attorney Kimberly Moss.
