A retail appliance company is being sued after allegedly committing negligence, which caused an employee to become injured.
Steven Hargraves filed a lawsuit April 14 in the Jefferson County Court against Conn's Appliances Inc., citing negligence.
The complaint states Hargraves was employed by Conn's and sustained injury during a work accident on Aug. 12. According to the suit, Hargraves was attempting to move a sofa with a dolly that was unsafe. He claims he sustained serious personal injuries to his left knee and body generally.
Conn's was negligent for failing to provide a safe work environment, failing to coordinate work so it could be performed in a safe manner and for failing to provide safe equipment, according to the complaint.
Hargraves is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional limits.
