Kansas City Southern sued after track worker injured

A Texas man is suing over claims he was seriously injured while working on a section of railroad track in Karnack. 

Miguel Regalado filed a lawsuit April 30 in the Eastern District of Texas Marshall Division against Kansas City Southern Railway Co., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Regalado was working on a section of track in Karnack for KCS on Nov. 2, 2011, when a load of railroad crossties fell on top of him, causing severe injury.

Kansas City Southern is accused of failing to provide Regalado with a safe place to work.

Regalado is seeking damages, medical costs, court costs, and loss of income.

He is being represented in the case by attorneys J. Kirkland Sammons, Mark T. Berry, and Jason J. Ruen of Sammons & Berry PC.
