Southeast Texas OB-GYN Associates, doctor sued for medical negligence

Medical malpractice

A Jefferson County resident is suing, alleging she was subjected to medical negligence.

Terri King filed a lawsuit May 1 in the Jefferson County Court against Southeast Texas OB-GYN Associates PA and Dr. Brent Bost, citing medical negligence.

The complaint states King saw Bost for medical problems and Bost recommended surgery. The plaintiff says she underwent a hysterectomy on March 20, 2013, and was discharged the next day.

After experiencing complications from the surgery, King returned to Bost, but the defendant's recommendations did not work, according to the complaint. King alleges she was admitted to the hospital on several occasions and suggested to Bost to perform an IVP test.

The test was performed June 13, which showed a high grade obstruction, requiring surgery, according to the complaint. The plaintiff contends she underwent unnecessary surgeries due to Bost's inability to identify the cause of complications and will continue to have pain and medical problems.

The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.

King is being represented in the case by Craig Lewis of The Lewis Law Firm.
