A Gregg man is suing over claims a Wal-Mart employee attempted to video tape him using the restroom.

Rider Sasseen filed a lawsuit May 2 in the Marshall Division of the Southern District of Texas against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., citing negligence.

Sasseen claims he needed to use the restroom while shopping at the defendant's store at 1201 Stone Road in Kilgore on April 22. According to the brief, as Sasseen was on the toilet, he noticed a camera coming from under the partition between two stalls.

The suit alleges the camera operator was trying to secretly film Sasseen on the toilet. Sasseen unsuccessfully tried to stop the camera operator before he left the bathroom. Sasseen states the defendant was negligent in hiring such a troubled employee.

Sasseen is seeking damages, interest, court costs and any other relief the court deems just.

He is being represented in the case by Longview attorney Benton G. Ross and Douglas C. Monsour of The Monsour Law Firm.
