A Jefferson County man is suing over claims he sustained injuries from a car accident.

Armando Hernandez Alvarado filed a lawsuit May 1 in the Jefferson County District Court against William Paul Semien, citing negligence.

Alvarado claims he suffered injuries when his vehicle was hit by the defendant's vehicle at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue in Beaumont, causing him injuries. According to the brief, Semien pulled out of a private drive, causing another vehicle to swerve into the path of the vehicle Alvarado was riding in, resulting in the accident.

Alvarado is seeking damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, interest and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Beaumont attorneys Clint Brasher and Joe Muckleroy.
