In a gripping legal battle, a Texas resident has filed a lawsuit against multiple companies following a severe injury sustained at a solar farm. Cipriano Palacios initiated the complaint on March 13, 2025, in Harris County District Court against IEA Constructors, LLC., Swift Current Management Services, Inc., Tres Bahias Solar Power, LLC, and Calhoun Coastal Ranch LP. The plaintiff claims that negligence on the part of these entities led to his catastrophic injury.

The case stems from an incident on May 8, 2023, when Palacios was delivering diesel to the Tres Bahias Solar Farm. During this task, he tripped over an exposed piece of wire on the ground near his work area. This fall resulted in significant injuries requiring multiple surgeries, including repair for a ruptured left triceps tendon. The complaint highlights that immediately after the incident, the defendants attempted to mitigate further accidents by spray-painting the wire that caused Palacios's fall.

Palacios alleges that the defendants were negligent in maintaining safe premises and failed to warn him about the dangerous condition posed by the exposed wire. He accuses them of breaching their duty of care by not inspecting or rectifying hazardous conditions adequately. The lawsuit argues that these failures directly contributed to his injuries and subsequent damages.

The plaintiff is seeking monetary relief exceeding $1 million for medical expenses incurred and anticipated future costs related to his injuries. Additionally, he seeks compensation for physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, disability and impairment, disfigurement, and loss of earnings capacity both past and future. Palacios also contends that if any pre-existing conditions were present before the incident, they were exacerbated by the defendants' negligence.

Represented by attorneys Brant J. Stogner and Jonathan D. Sneed from Abraham Watkins Nichols Agosto Aziz & Stogner law firm in Houston, Texas, Palacios aims to hold these companies accountable for their alleged negligence and gross negligence. The case is presided over by Judge Monica Jackson under Case ID 2025-17406 in the 270th Judicial District Court.
