A Harris County man is suing over claims he was injured on the premises of a restaurant while repairing the establishment's air conditioner.

William Costley filed a lawsuit May 8 in the Galveston County Court against Landry's Inc., citing premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, Costley was sent by his employer, Dustless Air Filters, to fix an air conditioner at the defendant's Aquarium Restaurant on Kemah Rail Road on May 17, 2012.

Costley says the manager of the restaurant showed him the ladder and hatch door used to access the unit, but did not warn him of any danger.

According to the complaint, when he was finished with his work, Costley began climbing down the ladder when the hatch door slammed on his hand and the ladder detached from the wall, which caused him to fall nearly 10 feet to the floor.

Costley is seeking lost pay and medical expenses which have exceeded $150,000, according to the complaint.

He is being represented in the case by attorney David A. Bryant Jr.
