Houston man sues after falling off a platform on the job

Platform

A Houston resident is suing a platform manufacturer after he fell and was injured on the job.

Gideon Sanders filed a lawsuit May 13 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Carbis Inc., citing negligence.

Sanders claims he was an employee of DOW Chemical Co. in LaPorte on Sept. 16, 2012, when he was injured.

The suit alleges Carbis Inc. manufactured a 20-foot platform that Sanders was standing on while working for DOW when the platform collapsed and Sanders fell and seriously injured himself.

According to the suit, the defendant failed to warn users of the dangers of the platform and failed to inspect or maintain the platform.

Sanders is seeking damages, medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost income, interest and court costs.

He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Jared Woodfill of Woodfill Law Firm PC.
