The Park at Waterford Harbor faces suit after worker shocked

The owners of an apartment complex are being sued after a man received an electric shock. 

Walter Vidal-Arias filed suit May 22 in the Galveston County Court at Law No. 1 against VR Park at Waterford LP, doing business as The Park at Waterford Harbor. 

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was working at an apartment complex owned by the defendant on Aug. 21.

The suit states that during the course of his work, Vidal-Arias received an electric shock which resulted in lost vision in his right eye and he suffered injuries to his head, face, shoulder, arm, neck and other parts of his body.

The defendant is accused of committing gross negligence by failing to properly train and supervise employees, failing to provide adequate equipment, failing to provide a safe work environment and failing to warn about potential hazards.

Vidal-Arias is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum.

He is being represented by attorney Jason A. Itkin of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
