A Mississippi woman is suing over claims her son was killed due to a faulty car seat.

Ralandria Brown filed a lawsuit May 30 in the Southern District Court of Texas Houston Division against Dorel Juvenile Group Inc., citing product liability.

According to the complaint, on June 2, 2012, Brown's son was in the defendant's Safety 1st car seat when they were in a collision. Brown says her child suffered fatal injuries.

She claims the car seat incorporated faulty design elements and did not protect the child from foreseeable incidents.

The defendant is accused of negligently designing or manufacturing the car seat.

Brown is seeking more than $75,000 in damages.

She is being represented in the case by attorneys E. Todd Tracy, Stewart D. Matthews and Andrew G. Counts of The Tracy Firm.
