A Galveston County man is suing over claims he and his minor daughter were injured in a vehicle collision.

Sun Cao, individually and as next friend of an unnamed minor, filed a lawsuit May 30 in the Galveston County District Court against Madison, Travis and Angela Sandifer, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Cao was driving his daughter to school on Greenbriar Avenue in Galveston County on May 7, 2013, when his car was rear-ended. The car was owned by Angela and Travis Sandifer and being driven by Madison, their teenage daughter, the suit states.

Cao claims Madison Sandifer was distracted because she was trying to read street  signs for the street she was supposed to turn on. The suit accuses Madison of negligent driving and her parents of negligently entrusting their vehicle to her.

Cao and his daughter are seeking damages, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity, lost wages and court costs.

They are being represented in the case by attorney John W. Ghezzi of Primavera & Ghezzi PLLC.
