A man is suing after he was allegedly injured by scaffolding at a grocery store.
Allen Hightower filed suit June 4 in Jefferson County District Court against Chris Property Management LLC, doing business as Crystal Grocery.
According to the complaint, on May 8, 2013, Hightower was entering the defendant's Beaumont store when a piece of scaffolding over the entryway fell and struck the plaintiff in the back of the head, resulting in debilitating injuries to his cervical spine and right shoulder.
The defendant should have known of the dangerous condition, had a duty to exercise ordinary care to keep the premises safe and failed to warn the plaintiff of the hazardous situation, the suit states.
Hightower is seeking special and general damages, plus costs.
He is represented by Beaumont attorney Brian N. Mazzola of the Mazzola Law Firm PC.
