A woman is suing a driving school following a crash on Interstate 45.

Veronica Bertha Guidry filed suit June 2 in Galveston County District Court against David Paul Bowers and Ronald and Dorothy Dewalt, doing business as Island Driving School, citing negligence.  According to the complaint, the plaintiff was driving home from her granddaughter's graduation and was stopped at 5800 Interstate 45 when defendant Bowers collided into the rear of the plaintiff's vehicle, causing significant damage and injury. Bowers was operating the vehicle under the employment of the other named defendants, the suit states.

The defendant is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to control the speed of the vehicle, failing to yield the right of way, failing to timely apply the brakes and failing to operate the vehicle with reasonable care.

Guidry is seeking actual damages within the jurisdictional limit and costs. She is represented by attorney David L. Pettus of the Pettus Law Firm.
