A mother is suing another driver and the company he works for on behalf of her son.

Alicia Tezeno, individually and as next friend of Xaivier Tezeno, filed a lawsuit June 4 in the Jefferson County District Court against Samuel Berry and RBS Asset Finance Inc., citing negligence.

The lawsuit states the Tezenos were traveling south on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Port Arthur on May 27, when Berry, traveling as an employee of RBS Asset Finance Inc., allegedly made an improper right turn and crashed into the Tezenos’ vehicle.

Alicia Tezeno alleges Berry also didn’t look, failed to exercise due care and wasn’t paying attention, according to the complaint. The complaint also alleges gross negligence and negligent entrustment, negligent hiring and negligent supervision on part of the company.

Alicia Tezeno is seeking damages that cover past medical bills, future medical bills, mental anguish, pain and suffering, disability, loss of enjoyment of life, physical impairment, lost earning capacity, pre and post-judgment interest and exemplary damages.

She and her son are being represented by private attorney Cody Rees of Beaumont.
