Injured woman sues following vehicle collision

A two-vehicle collision has led to a lawsuit. 

Mia Winters filed suit June 19 in Jefferson County District Court against Valencia Williams. 

According to the complaint, on Sept. 17 Winters was driving her vehicle when it was struck by a vehicle driven by Williams, resulting in permanent injuries to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of failing to control the speed of her vehicle, driving at high speed, failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to maintain a safe distance, failing to avoid the collision, failing to bring her vehicle to a stop, failing to apply the brakes, failing to observe traffic signals and driving carelessly. 

Winters is seeking actual damages within the jurisdictional limit of the court, interest and costs. She is represented by Beaumont attorney Ryan C. Scott of the Scott Law Firm PLLC.
