Man says former partner breached settlement agreement

Contract signing1

A man has filed suit against his former partner, alleging she failed to obey the terms of a settlement agreement.

William Christopher Womack filed suit July 14 in the Galveston County District Court against Michelle Christine Connely.

According to the complaint, Womack and Connely were living together at 1204 Cambridge Drive in Friendswood, when their relationship ended. Following the relationship’s demise, Womack and Connely entered into a mediated settlement agreement, according to the complaint.

Under the terms of the agreement, Womack and Connely agreed Connely would refinance the property within 90 days of the agreement and would pay the current loan until the refinancing had been completed, the suit states.

The settlement agreement was finalized May 22, but Connely has failed to refinance the home within the 90-day deadline, the complaint says. Womack alleges breach of contract against Connely.

Womack seeks actual damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorneys’ fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.

He is being represented by Houston attorneys Richard A. Simmons and Jason B. Keith of Waldron & Schneider L.L.P.
