Boat worker sues over spine injury

Spine xray

A Harris County man is suing after allegedly suffering a spine injury at work.

Fabrice Sitan filed suit July 18 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Epic Diving & Marine Services LLC.

According to the complaint, on March 30 Sitan was working for the defendant when he suffered injuries to his spine and body because a boat crew member unexpectedly cut a rope attached to a cable, resulting in tension on the cable that caused the plaintiff to fall on the ship's deck. Sitan suffered physical pain, mental anguish, loss of earnings and medical costs as a result of the incident, the suit states.

The defendant is accused of negligence due to the vessel the plaintiff was working on being in an unseaworthy condition.

Sitan is seeking damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, with interest and costs. He is represented by Houston attorney Brian E. White of Brian White & Associates PC.
