Man blames driver for causing rear-end collision

Rearend crash

A man claims he suffered physical pain and mental anguish when a driver rear-ended his vehicle.

Elton Senegal filed a lawsuit July 23 in the Jefferson County District Court against Peter Dabill and East Texas Support Services.

In his complaint, Senegal alleges he was driving in Port Arthur on June 16 when Dabill failed to control his speed and struck the back of Senegal’s vehicle. At the time of the collision, Dabill was working for East Texas Support Services.

Because of the collision, Senegal suffered physical pain and mental anguish, incurred medical costs and experienced physical impairment, according to the complaint. He also lost wages, the suit states.

Dabill negligently failed to control his speed, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to properly apply his brakes, failed to control his vehicle and followed Senegal too closely, the complaint says.

Senegal seeks a judgment in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, plus costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and other relief the court deems just.

He is being represented by attorneys B. Adam Terrell and Steven C. Toups of Weller, Green, Toups and Terrell in Beaumont and Kent W. Johns of Johns and Johns in Beaumont.
