Dallas – Ford Nassen is pleased to announce that Todd H. Colvard has joined the firm in an Of Counsel position in our Houston office.

Mr. Colvard is an experienced litigation attorney with a background in both prosecuting and defending litigation matters involving construction defects, breach of contract, breach of warranty, employment related claims, real estate disputes, personal injury, premises liability, product liability and toxic tort.

Mr. Colvard spent the last 11 years with the Houston office of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman. He received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1997, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (1989), where he was a walk-on to the Bulldog football team.  Prior to practicing law, Mr. Colvard worked in the non-profit arena in Washington D. C.

His experience includes the prosecution of breach of contract claims on behalf of a major chemical manufacturer in a 33-day AAA arbitration resulting in a $22 million damage award to the client and denial of more than $60 million in counterclaims.  He was also involved in prosecution of breach of contract claims on behalf of an interstate pipeline company against several contractors who were engaged to construct a 50-mile expansion of the pipeline system.  After four weeks of trial testimony, a favorable settlement was achieved.

Mr. Colvard is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association. He is also actively involved in the state and local chapters of the Associated General Contractors and the Houston Contractor’s Association.
