Orange Co. woman seeks damages from I-10 service road wreck

An Orange County woman is suing over claims she was injured in a collision on an Interstate Highway 10 service road.

Joanna Christy Davis filed a lawsuit Sept. 25 in Jefferson County District Court against Lathan Neil Gould, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Davis was driving eastbound on the Interstate 10 service road in Beaumont on June 26, when she signaled her intention to turn right into a driveway and slowed. The complaint states Gould, who was driving behind her, failed to slow and crashed into the rear of Davis' vehicle. Davis says she sustained injuries, and Gould is accused of negligence and gross negligence.

Davis seeks damages, medical care expenses, loss of earnings, property damage and interest. She is represented by attorney Darrell Minton of Minton and Marion in Vidor.
