An area resident has brought a lawsuit against ExxonMobil, seeking no more than $200,000 damages after he tripped on landscaping paper more than a year ago.
John Hart filed the suit June 24 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to his lawsuit, on Dec. 25, 2013, Hart, while at the direction and control of ExxonMobil, was a walking along a fence line when he tripped and feel over landscaping paper that was covered up by rocks.
Hart claims he was severely injured because the oil giant negligently failed to have the area properly landscaped and provide him with the training and supervision necessary for a safe work place.
He is suing for his past and future mental anguish, physical pain, lost wages, medical expenses and impairment.
Houston attorney Loren Klitsas represents him.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
