A Jasper County resident is suing a Beaumont city meter reader and her employer following a car collision.

Tiffany McBride filed a suit June 1 in the Jefferson County District Court against Olameter Corp., Entergy Texas Inc. and Katie Lynn Wagner, alleging negligence and wanton and willful misconduct.

According to the suit, on Aug., 27, 2014, McBride was traveling westbound in the 1400 block of Calder in Beaumont. Wagner, who was driving a 2009 Toyota Tacoma, was traveling southbound on the 500 block of Martin Luther King Blvd. McBride alleges that Wagner had a red light, but entered the intersection in front of the plaintiff, causing her to strike the defendant’s vehicle. The suit claims McBride sustained serious injuries to her neck, back, left arm and body. At the time of the collision Wagner was a statutory employee of Olameter Corp. as a meter reader for Entergy Texas.

The plaintiff is suing the defendants for negligence and seeks damages of an unspecified amount. McBride is represented by attorney Clay Dougas in Beaumont.
