A Shelby County man is suing Ed's Equipment, alleging negligence in an accident involving a tub grinder.

Ricky Harkness filed the lawsuit Aug. 12 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Ed's Equipment, Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 27, Harkness was severely injured by a Diamond Z tub grinder. The suit says Ed's Equipment was negligent in its training and instruction for proper use and operation of the Diamond Z tub grinder.

The lawsuit alleges Harkness suffered severe bodily injuries, including physical impairment and disfigurement, and loss of capacity to work and earn money as a result of the defendant's negligence. He is also required to pay medical care charges as a result of the injuries, the suit says.

Harkness seeks damages and interest, plus court costs. He is represented by attorneys J. Mark Mann of Mann, Tindel & Thompson in Henderson, and Don Wheeler of the Law Office of Don Wheeler in Center.
