Hess and Chevron sued after employee allegedly injured on the job

A lawsuit has been filed against Hess and Chevron by an employee who was allegedly injured while working.

Ernest Arcement of Louisiana filed a lawsuit against Hess Corp. and Chevron USA Inc. on Aug. 12 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas citing negligence and gross negligence.


According to the complaint, on Oct. 9, 2014, Arcement was employed as a hydro technician at Stranco Services when he was injured on the job when he slipped and fell on a platform’s slippery stairs. He alleges that he was being rushed to complete his duties in an unsafe manner and that the platform was unsafe.

Arcement is suing for negligence claiming the company is responsible for maintaining the platform and keeping it in a safe condition and for failing to inform Arcement of the dangerous condition. He is asking for damages for the severe and permanent injuries he sustained, categorical damages and interest. He is represented by Marcus R. Spagnoletti of Spagnoletti & Co. of Houston.
