Woman sues Charlie T's Autos over unpaid overtime allegations

Overtime

An Arcadia, La. woman is suing her former employer, a Houston-based auto shop, over claims of unpaid overtime wages.

Lonnetta J. Hampton filed a complaint Aug. 25 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Charlie T's Autos Inc. and Charles Talisman, alleging unpaid overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The complaint states that during the time Hampton worked as a collections manager for the defendants, from approximately June 8, 2007, to May 8 she was paid $20 per hour, plus 1.5 percent of dollars collected per month, but she was not paid time-and-a-half for overtime hours worked.

Hampton seeks damages for the unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, and attorney fees and court costs.

Hampton is represented by Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin.
