A Galveston-based boat company is suing a subsea construction and inspection services provider, alleging failure to pay for provided services.
Harbor Offshore Marine, Inc. filed a lawsuit Aug 5 in Galveston County District Court against Seamar Divers Inc., alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, both parties entered into an oral contract in August 2014 in which Seamar Divers agreed to pay Harbor Offshore Marine for providing a vessel to take Seamar divers and equipment into the Gulf of Mexico to perform dive services. As part of the agreement Harbor would load and unload the vessel with the dive equipment, as well as provide meals and bunks for the divers, the suit says.
The lawsuit states although Harbor provided the agreed upon services it has yet to receive payment. The plaintiff submitted five invoices totaling $15,088,15., the suit says.
Harbor seeks actual damages, attorney fees, court costs and other relief deemed appropriate by the court. It is represented by attorney Abel P. Ortiz II of Moore & Ortiz, PC in Galveston.
