Securitas Security Services USA sued over unpaid overtime wages allegations

Overtime

Two Texas residents are suing Securitas Security Services USA Inc. over claims of unpaid overtime wages.

Clovis Adams and Angielia Jordan, individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a collective action complaint Sept. 4 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Securitas Security Services USA Inc., alleging unpaid overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The complaint states that while the plaintiffs were employed as security officers by the defendant, they were paid an hourly rate but were required to arrive on-location and patrol the property 15 minutes prior to clocking in for their shift.

These patrols were unpaid and the plaintiffs were not allowed to report them to receive additional overtime pay, according to the complaint.

The plaintiffs seek to recover unpaid back wages due, liquidated damages, and attorney fees and court costs.

They are represented by Shane McGuire of the McGuire Firm PC in Tyler, Texas.
