GALVESTON -- A Harris County man is suing Gulf Greyhound Park, alleging negligence over injuries he says he sustained while at the facility.

Walter Evans filed a lawsuit Sept. 21 in Galveston County District Court against Gulf Greyhound Park in La Marque, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Evans was at the park to watch a dog race when he slipped and fell on debris that was on the floor and was injured. The suit says negligence on the part of both the park and its employees caused his injuries.

The lawsuit states the plaintiff has incurred physical pain and mental anguish at the time of the fall, physical pain and mental anguish he will likely feel in the future, costs of medical care now and in the future, plus physical impairment and disfigurement.

Evans seeks unspecified damages, a jury trial and wants the defendant to preserve and maintain all evidence related to the incident. He is represented by attorneys Husein Hadi and Jamil Thomas of The Hadi Law Firm in Houston.
