Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas sued over alleged negligence in accident

A certain Beaumont hospital is being sued after a visitor slipped and fell on a slippery floor within the hospital.

Bobby Jones filed a complaint Sept. 14 in Jefferson County District Court against Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, alleging negligence.

On Sept. 22, 2014, the complaint states, while visiting a relative on the premises of Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Jones slipped and fell due to a liquid substance on the floor.

The complaint states the defendant was negligent in creating an unsafe condition to visitors, failing to properly maintain the flooring area in question, failing to warn of the unsafe condition, and failing to remove the liquid substance to avoid injuries.

As a result, Jones suffered bodily pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost wages physical impairment, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses.

Jones seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, plus court costs.
