Employee alleges Southern Specialties Transportation did not pay overtime

Overtime

HOUSTON -- A Montgomery County man is suing an oilfield support services company, alleging unpaid overtime.

Johnathan L. Bolton filed a lawsuit Sept. 16 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Southern Specialties Transportation (SST) LLC, alleging unpaid overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The complaint states during his employment as an operator, dispatcher, and truck pusher with SST beginning in April 2013, Bolton was paid according to SST's day rate, hourly rate and annual salary policies.

The suit says Bolton regularly worked more than 12 hours per day and frequently more than 80 hours per week but he did not receive time-and-a-half for any time worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

Bolton seeks to recover unpaid overtime compensation, plus attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney Alex Mabry of The Mabry Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
