Boat owner alleges Finish Line Marine never properly fixed engine

GALVESTON -- A Galveston County boat owner is suing a boat repair shop, alleging an engine under warranty never worked.

Michael Bletsch filed a lawsuit Sept. 23 in Galveston County Court against Finish Line Marine Inc., alleging liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 10, Bletsch went to the Finish Line shop in Hitchcock with a boat engine he wanted repaired. The suit says the defendant told the plaintiff the parts came with a 12-month warranty from the manufacturer and Finish Line would guarantee the work for 30 days.

However, Bletsch alleges the rebuilt engine never worked properly and because there was water in it, the manufacturer would not approve the warranty for the engine.

The plaintiff alleges liability and negligence, willful misrepresentation under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, breach of implied warranty and fraudulent misrepresentation.

Bletsch seeks attorney fees, damages, court costs and a jury trial. He is represented by attorney Owen Jones of The Law Offices of Owen Jones in Friendswood.
