Jefferson County sues West Coastal Field Services, alleging unpaid taxes

Jefferson County is suing a Beaumont company, alleging delinquent taxes owed it for 2014.

Jefferson County county filed a lawsuit Sept. 25 in Jefferson County District Court against West Coastal Field Services of Beaumont.

According to the complaint, there are two lots owned by the defendant for which $14,451 in delinquent taxes and late fees are owed. The county further seeks foreclosure of its liens against the two properties and subsequently the sale of those properties at public auction.

Jefferson County seeks writs of execution, directing law enforcement officers to seize and sell sufficient property of the defendants to satisfy the judgment sought, plus additional taxes, penalties, interest and attorney fees. It is represented by attorney Clayton E. Mayfield of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson in Beaumont.
