A Texas City woman is suing a motor freight operator, alleging negligence for injuries she sustained in a vehicle collision.

Virginia R. Collins filed a lawsuit Sept. 29 in Galveston County District Court against SAIA Motor Freight Line, alleging negligence.

On Oct. 29, 2014, the complaint states, a driver for SAIA Motor Freight parked a vehicle on the roadway but did not have emergency lights on or place any cones around it to warn cars that it was stationary. Collins then crashed into the rear of the vehicle, the suit says.

The lawsuit alleges the defendant was negligent in its actions, which resulted in Collins sustaining injuries, property damages, and loss of wages and earning capacity.

Collins seeks actual and exemplary damages of $300,000, interest and court costs. She is represented by attorney Jose Luis Orihuela of Orihuela & Associates in League City.

Galveston County District Court case number 15-cv-1049.
