Contract

A Galveston County man is suing a Bayou Vista woman, alleging she still owes him an outstanding balance on a real estate purchase.

Clarence O. Gordon filed a lawsuit June 29 in Galveston County Circuit Court against Mary E. Gordon, alleging breach of contract.

On Aug. 15, 2004, the complaint states, the two parties entered into a real estate lien note regarding property at 1044 Redfish St., Bayou Vista, with Mary Gordon agreeing to purchase the property from Clarence Gordon for $125,000, with 5 percent interest per year and payments to be made in monthly installments.

The suit alleges Mary Gordon's payments ceased in February 2015 with a remaining principal of $48,497, and since that time, past due installments have accrued to approximately $5,000, together with unpaid interest due of approximately $900.

Clarence Gordon seeks monetary relief in the amount due, interest, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorneys Christopher L. Johnson and Julie M. Berkshire of Lyons & Plackemeier in Texas City.
