San Miguel Shipping sued over alleged breach of contract

Contract

A Louisiana marine services company is suing a Texas shipping company over claims of an unpaid balance for services.

Louisiana International Marine filed a complaint June 29 in U.S. District Court for the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against San Miguel Shipping, alleging breach of contract.

The complaint states that Louisiana International Marine contracted its vessel, LA Commander, to San Miguel Shipping from July 16, 2014, to Sept. 26, 2014.

Louisiana International Marine invoiced San Miguel Shipping for a sum of approximately $570,500, which, as of the filing date of this suit, San Miguel still owes.

Louisiana International Marine seeks to recover the balance owed, plus attorney fees and court costs.

The plaintiff is represented by Matthew F. Popp and Mark A. Hill of Waits, Emmett, Popp & Teich of New Orleans.
