A Leesburg man is suing a trucking company over injuries the man says he sustained in a vehicle collision with one of the company's drivers.
Jeremy Warren filed a lawsuit Oct. 7 in the Marshall Division for the Eastern District of Texas against Sentry Trucks, Inc., alleging negligence.
On Feb. 24, the complaint states, Warren was driving a 2008 Chevrolet pickup westbound on the inside lane of Interstate Highway 30 in Titus County, when he slowed down as he approached a crash scene in front of him. At the same time, Raymond Del Vanover, driving a 1996 Freightliner tractor trailer owned by Sentry Trucks, failed to control his speed and rear-ended Warren's vehicle.
The lawsuit alleges Sentry Trucks, through its agent Vanover, was negligent in failing to keep proper lookout, failing to properly stop, failing to control speed and failing to take evasive action to avoid colliding with Warren.
As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff sustained injuries to his lower back and body in general, and has also sustained physical pain and mental anguish, impairment, loss of earnings and earning capacity and medical expenses.
Warren seeks actual, economic and compensatory damages, interests and costs of court. He is represented by attorneys Blake C. Erskine of Erskine & McMahon in Longview, and Keith Miller of the Law Office of Keith Miller in Tyler.
