HOUSTON -- A Houston man is suing the manufacturers of power tools, alleging negligence for an injury he says he suffered while using one of their saws.

Jason Evans filed a lawsuit Oct. 8 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Rexon Industrial Corp. and Power Tools Specialists Inc., alleging negligence, product liability and breach of implied warranty.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 26, 2013, Evans says he was injured while using a table saw the defendants designed, manufactured, tested, supplied, sold and/or distributed. The suit says the defects in the saw that caused Evans' injury were well known to the defendants, who did nothing to fix them.

The plaintiff alleges damages for medical expenses, physical impairment, pain and suffering, mental anguish and loss of earning capacity.

Evans seeks interest, court costs and other relief to which he may be entitled, plus a trial by jury. He is represented by attorney Eric D. Pearson, Heygood Orr & Pearson in Dallas.
