A former worker is suing an oil and gas technology supplier, alleging unpaid overtime.

Ryan Riva, individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a collective action lawsuit Oct. 13 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Schlumberger Technology Corporation, of Houston, alleging unpaid overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Riva was a field engineer for the defendant and routinely worked more than 84 hours per week, for which he was paid a salary plus a job bonus/day rate. The suit alleges Schlumberger did not pay the plaintiff an overtime premium for time worked more than 40 hours per week.

Riva and others in the class seek unpaid overtime, liquidated damages, attorney fees and costs. He is represented by attorneys Clif Alexander and Austin W. Anderson of Phipps Anderson Deacon in Corpus Christi.
